Sweet sixteen.
As series sixteen of 'The Great British Bake Off' approaches, Joe Wilkinson narrates a new take on the Big Bang theory that's less scientific and more calorific. If Wilkinson, agency 4 Creative, and director Isabel Garrett are to be believed, the universe started with an egg, some flour, and a handful of berries. Eat that, (Professor) Brian Cox! From here, Garrett and her team deliver a vibrant twist on evolution, where all sorts of ingredients and chemical reactions lead to the baked world we know today. Hosts Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond adapt to survive through colourful knitwear, and Prue Leith provides warmth and light as the Sun. Die-hard fans will appreciate the nod to Julia Chernogorova's nigh-on X-rated bread snail from series eight. "Out of the chaos came hope, resilience, and sponge-based glory," says Wilkinson, like a man who was once named Star Baker and wants other to feel what he felt. As this stop-motion treat draws to a close, you start to wonder where Paul Hollywood's got to. It's all in the eyes, folks—it's all in the eyes that are too blue to be true.
