Tetley Tea

"WFH"

8 April 2025

30s

It's all in the timing.

One of four new ads for Tetley Tea celebrating subtext which marks a major repositioning for the brand, and a welcome return to UK screens after a few years absence. In this execution, a man working from home is expressing his dissatisfaction with a piece of work to his colleagues when his partner returns home emanating a restless vibe.

It's only when she pushes the cup of tea she's made for him out of his reach that he picks up on the glint in her eye, and realises it's time to provider her with her conjugal rights. We don't know whether director Tom Speers puts sugar in his tea but he certainly delivers exactly the right amount of sweetness to this ad. Aided and abetted by Eve Ashwell tone perfect edit, and some appropriately delicate sound design, it adds up to a perfect brew.
