"It's Not a Little Thing, It's Everything"

1 October 2025

60s

The food life.

When did food become mere fuel? That's what Tesco Ireland wants to know. Blue Supermarket goes to the heart of the matter with a spot directed by Dan French, who shows how recipes and ingredients lead to more than full stomachs. Cook up a storm (or a bowl of soup) and lift people’s moods—it may even get "a day gone sideways" back on the straight and narrow.

It's a lovely compendium of moments where hunger plays second fiddle to friends, family, partners, and the desire to express oneself. Food is fuel when it comes down to it, but the brand never wants us to forget the pleasure that comes from it. So what if it looks different from the picture in the cookbook (DAVID's been there more times than he cares to admit)—an effort was made, and the advertised supermarket's there for when we try again out of love.
