"It Isn't a Little Thing - It's Everything"

3 February 2025

60s

So you've had a bag day.

After seven years' worth of Food Love Stories—some undercooked, some overcooked, but most bang on the money—Tesco and agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty have closed the book on that particular campaign. In its place is a fresh start for Blue Supermarket: a thoughtful commercial that focuses on the reasons we fill a bag for life with ingredients.

Scored by Good Neighbours and 'Home' ("It's my mother's cooking when I can't have it"), the ad replaces the brand name with words like sorry, thanks, party, and bliss in the Tesco font. The idea is that each bag contains more than just ingredients—they contain the building blocks of gestures that will make someone's day, week, month, or year.

The build-up to each meal is complemented by food photography that not only sells how invested each character is, but also the quality of the produce. Not every trip to the shops has to be loaded with intent, but the ones that are pique Tesco's interest and then some.
