You shall go to the dance.

Some ads pull at the heartstrings so hard, viewers need to call an ambulance. Take Subaru's latest tie-up with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, who must have told John Cena to take a well-earned day off. Directed by Lisa Rubisch, the film takes place on the children's ward, where a boy prepares to ask Ally a very important question: "Will you go to prom with me?"

She says yes, of course, and she deserves the kind of build-up that her peers beyond the hospital doors get. In a short and sweet montage, prom dresses are wheeled in and hype spreads throughout the entire ward—the acoustic soundtrack, meanwhile, is turned up to eleven, just to make sure everyone knows this is a capital H heartwarmer.

It's not enough to detract from the actual prom, though, where Ally learns what her date's actual wish was (no wonder the advertised charity fast-tracked it). A sudden cut to Subaru's Share the Love logo does take away from the couple’s embrace, but that’s what happens when charity and car sales share the stage.
