"Tick Tock Boom"

23 September 2025

4 mins 01s

We have all the time in the world.

It's never been harder to be a bomb disposal expert. There are so many distractions these days, from social media feeds to language-learning apps. Hayley Morris ('Love & Loss', 'How Not to Handle a Break-In') plays a bomb disposal expert who's got just over two hours to get the job done—when and if she starts is another matter altogether.

About as far removed from 'The Hurt Locker' as its possible to get, the film has Morris’s character call her mum, practise German, order food, and kick back with some tried-and-tested animal clips. She also stumbles across a video about attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in adults, but why spend time on that when she can muck around with a gas mask?

The marvellous Ms Morris and director Mike Upson take procrastination to the next level, but keep it relatable to boot (watch Morris as she falls under the spell of a 'You'll Never Believe How Cute These Ten Baby Animals Are' video). We've all been there, and we'll all be there again—so will the protagonist, if she lives to get another assignment.
