After you've gone.

Written and directed by Sye Allen, 'Light Hearted' stars Gillian Wright (Jean Slater in 'EastEnders') and Simon Greenall (Michael in 'I'm Alan Patridge') as a couple brought back together by technology. Flesh and blood Clive may be dead, but his spirit lives on thanks to the wonders of tomorrow… or should that be blunders?

Even as a hologram, Clive's got a short temper, and he's outraged to learn that not only was he cremated, Joy played 'Another One Bites the Dust' instead of 'The Show Must Go On' at the funeral. It's a fantasy, sure, but it's still uncomfortable to hear Joy get in the neck like she does. Chuck in a forgotten bank password and you've got a domestic that defies death.

Before it all gets too serious, however, Joy hits back with some home truths of her own (never mind what her and Geoff got up to—does he still have Clive's pressure washer?). The back and forth between Wright and Greenall is great, as Allen's script goes on to explore what part, if any, technology has to play in grief. The result evokes 'Black Mirror' but in a more, ahem, light-hearted way.
