69
As she prepares to release her third studio album, 'A Complicated Woman', Self Esteem thought it was about time everyone knew what her favourite sexual positions are. If you prefer a more demure pop star, please ask for one—for everyone else, take a deep breath and let Rebecca Lucy Taylor's '69' wash over you like a tidal wave of titillation. Over a crisp house beat, Self Esteem sinks her teeth into the missionary position ("Forty calories burned for me"), reverse cowgirl ("Too much fun withholding"), the Eiffel Tower ("Turn me round, let's see that mirror"), and more. The one position she cannot brook is—you guessed it—sixty-nine, even if the track dials it like a cheeky nod to telephone sex. It's a ton of fun, but Self Esteem is serious when she tells fans: "DON'T DO SEX THINGS YOU FIND BORING OR DON'T LIKE! SAY WHAT YOU WANT! ASK WHAT THEY WANT!" That's why Piers Dennis's promo is a group therapy session in a town hall, where Taylor and company—to borrow a title from her discography—prioritise pleasure. It may start as a sit-down affair, but Stuart Rog's choreography stands out as the track ramps up.
