Rustlers

"Ballroom"

Meat me on the dancefloor.

One of the most famous slogans in American fast-food history is "Where's the beef?", a phrase introduced by Wendy’s in 1984. It was then used by Walter Mondale that same year in the US presidential election (a fact your faithful correspondent learned from ‘The Simpsons’, of course). Forty years later, Rustlers thought it would deliver its own twist on the formula: a mouthful of madness courtesy of agency Droga5 and director Alex Southam.

One bite's enough to transport the protagonist to a ballroom inside her own mouth, where she and her partner dance to a, er, meaty electronic track played by the Gramophone Man. She'll snap out of this ballroom fantasy soon, right? After all, Rustlers would never trap someone in a "taste metaphor" for the rest of the time… or would it?

The epilogue blurbs that follow are a great touch: dark but daft enough to evoke the Red Room from 'Twin Peaks', only with microwave burgers. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for the Gramophone Man, everyone—don't be surprised if he turns up on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
