Ramp

"Chasing Receipts (DC)"

A fine mess.

The director's cut of Ramp's 'Chasing Receipts' commercial calls time on late nights and early starts caused by finance. Jara Moravec’s cast would love to leave the office at a reasonable hour, have every receipt accounted for, and not fear death by a thousand paper cuts, but the companies they work for are so behind the times, it’s a push to call this 2025 even.

Thanks to the Czech’s pacy direction and Katarína Gramatová's canny edit, It's hard not to get swept up in the financial futility of it all. We feel for the woman who asks a forklift driver to submit expenses, only for him to drive away. Another employee straight-up runs away from her—for the longest time, her and others like her would say "fine" and muddle on. Fine, says the advertised software brand, no longer passes muster.

It offers hope to frazzled finance teams who need "tools, not tests". One clerk spots Ramp through a window, looks at the fresh-faced user about to leave work at the end of the day , and says: "I need that!" You feel his pain, so maybe it's time for some receipt relief.
