Blue means go.
So it's come to this: another Smurfs movie. Eight years after the events of 'Smurfs: The Lost Village' (DAVID assumes it was found in the end), the Blue Hand Gang are back in the imaginatively titled 'Smurfs'. Not only does Rihanna replace Demi Lovato as the voice of Smurfette, she's teamed up with Puma to release a range of "Fenty-fied and Smurfette-approved" apparel. To promote said collection, viewers see the world through Smurfette's eyes in this 60" commercial. She's got an interview at 9:00 am on the dot, but her chaperone is fast asleep. Not one to sit and wait, she jumps down a drainpipe onto the streets of New York, where the rest of Team Smurfette get her back on track. That's a large cup of coffee for such a small creature. It's hard not to get swept up in director Bennett Johnson's first-person caper. Pacy and playful with plenty to keep fans engaged, it tries harder than most cartoon tie-ins. Parents must try even harder to sit through the actual film once the schools are out.
