All is bright.
Everybody runs for a reason. To keep fit, catch a bus, flee from a monster, et cetera. Brandon Throop runs to leave cancer in the dust. Diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2022, Throop wanted to escape. Thanks to experimental treatment at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, he was able to think of a new plan: run the Toronto Marathon in a hospital gown. Directors King She interpret the moment Throop found his feet as a run that lights up a darkened corridor. Then another one. Before long, the whole place is lit up—at a pace that puts stage three non-Hodgkin lymphoma in its place, Throop brighten car parks, streets, overpasses, and more. He's the kind of guy you want around in a power cut. The Canadian's also the kind of guy who suits the lyrics to 'Seven Nation Army'. Ely Eira's cover of the White Stripes anthem is slower and less likely to be adopted by football supporters, but it does the trick. When Throop runs, he makes the sweat drip out of every pore; that's how hard the advertised hospital works to treat cancer, we imagine.
