The Dyer is cast.
Over the years, Danny Dyer's played a pub in 'EastEnders', a drug smuggler in 'The Business', a music manager in 'Grand Theft Auto: Vice City', and a pimp in, er, 'Pimp'—the less said about that one, the better. He's now in charge of a casino thanks to Paddy Power, the Irish bookmaker who thinks Bloodhound Gang are due a comeback. Scored by an instrumental of 'The Bad Touch', the ad sees Dyer in his moustachioed element. It's a busy night on the casino floor, with "eternal optimists" (represented by time-served brand ambassador Peter Crouch), "drama queens" (Gemma Collins), and "silent assassins" (Coleen Rooney in full Wagatha Christie mode) dotted about the place. The only somewhat witty "finance bro" in existence also has a go on the slot machines ("What's the leverage on this thing?") As is so often the case in this sector, however, the reality is that a feel-good casino where the boss has your back does not exist—if viewers feel like they're in a casino as they pump money into Paddy Power Games, then more, er, power to them. We do like how the bubble bursts on Dyer's casino caper.
