The patter of tiny feet.
Thomas Cervenca's wacky new spot for Austrian energy company Oekestrom is a feat of, erm, feet. To illustrate how important it is to reduce one's carbon footprint, Cervenca replaces most of the cast's flesh and blood pins with dolls' legs. If the protagonist wants to hear the patter of tiny feet at home, he must switch to green electricity, pronto. Scored by a track reminiscent of 'Flat Beat' by Mr Oizo (always a plus in DAVID’s book), the ad revels in the ridiculous and bids to burrow under your skin. Take the Pilates practitioner whose tiny feet no longer touch the ground, or the guy who uses his to stroke his date's leg. You know what they say about men with small feet? They want to save the planet, of course. The brand hopes to raise a chuckle and raise awareness in one fell swoop. If zany, memorable visuals like these help make the ecological footprint more tangible to consumers, feet for thought could be a winner.
