'Kiss from a Rose' by Seal becomes 'Kiss from a Lime' in Mountain Dew’s latest batshit crazy Super Bowl commercial (who could forget 'Puppy Monkey Baby' from 2016—pure horror rivalled only by Donald Trump's election victory). Nine years later, agency Goodby Silverstein & Partners and director Taika Waititi have also played God to some extent.

When actor and singer Becky G takes a swig of Baja Blast (regular Mountain Dew with a lime kick), she's transported to a tropical paradise where—how do we put this—Seal's face has been grafted onto a seal. The only song he/it sings is a self-aware citrus twist on a song made famous by 'The NeverEnding Story III' and 'Batman Forever'.

The result reminds DAVID of a gag from 'Robbie the Reindeer: Hooves of Fire'—where a white seal belts out 'Crazy'—as well as 'Seaman' for the Sega Dreamcast, which revolves around a fish with a bloke's face. If Seal² freaks you out, he/it's freaked out by killer whales that would love some Grammy-worthy blubber. Even the cast is forced to acknowledge how bonkers this is.
