McDonald's

"The Grinch Meal"

2 December 2025

The Grinch gets around.

How much Grinch is too much Grinch? Both Asda and Walmart have used the character in recent weeks, and now it's the turn of McDonald's Down Under. It's the latest Maccy D's spot to feature the green meanie, in fact—one year on from his Canadian debut, the Grinch is off to ruin Christmas in Australia, where the holidays are much, much hotter. This has also been spotted on UK telly.

Enraged by this seasonal switcheroo, he gets to work on a meal guaranteed to make Australians balk, barf, or both. Pleased as punch with a machine that converts junk into, er, junk food, he's most proud of a sour drink with pearls that pop like green blisters. Yet by the time the Grinch and his cloche appear on a beach Down Under, the meal looks rather agreeable to hungry sun worshippers.

It may not be the reaction he wanted (it's Whoville all over again), but if it leads to increased sales, the Grinch's wallet should grow three sizes. That'll put a smile on his face for once.
