"Traffic Jamming"

4 November 2025

90s

A stroke of truck.

Before Marks & Spencer reveals its half-year results and the extent of the damage caused by April's cyber attack, the brand's got a Christmas ad for us to chew over first. As much as M&S would love Fairy to turn back time and stop those pesky hackers, the tree ornament voiced by Dawn French can only make a traffic jam more bearable for motorists like… Dawn French.

She only manages a few words of 'Driving Home for Christmas' before road rage takes over. Before French turns the air blue, Fairy spots an M&S lorry a few cars ahead. Thanks to the power of magic, or VFX as we like to call it, the inside of the truck is transformed into a festive home from home. If French has to break someone's wing mirror or hurtle over someone's bonnet to get there, so be it.

The actor's reluctant to share the bounty within, but she’s never managed to overrule the more hospitable Fairy before—why should this year be any different? 2025 does see Tom Kerridge take a break from farm visits to sit in traffic instead... maybe he needs to will a magic tree ornament into existence.
