90s

What's mine is yours.
Hot chocolate, or hot cocoa, sells at Christmas. That's why the girl in this 90" Lincoln commercial loads up the boot of her dad's SUV with cocoa, cups, candy canes, marshmallows, et cetera, and heads straight to the local market. So long as she’s patient and folk ignore the kindly old charity collector opposite, she could make an absolute fortune. DAVID—or the capitalist pig-devil on his shoulder—likes to think at any other time of the year, the girl would keep the money and laugh at her rival's expense (he needed to show more hustle or get up in people's grills). Much to its disappointment, generosity of spirit wins out and the girl donates all the money to her competitor. Donald Trump would call her a loser, no doubt. The Lincoln Motor Company, however, thinks that’s Christmas in a nutshell. As well as tug at the heartstrings, the ad wants to make its Navigator SUV look helpful and wholesome, not harmful to the environment. A free cup of cocoa would make that much easier to swallow.
