Different gravy.
How do you follow one of the craziest fast food ads of all time? If you're KFC, you do it by making an even crazier one, and by once again putting director Vedran Rupic of Business Club in charge of delivering it. KFC and their agency Mother knew Rupic wouldn't let them down, and he hasn't. He's taken their script and ramped it to the max with a two minute film that celebrates the combination of chicken and gravy with messianic fervour. The young man who spies a chicken in the undergrowth has no idea what he's in for as he's stealthily surrounded by a collection of people wearing uniforms suggestive of their cultist devotion to gravy. He's enticed to the shores of a lake of the brown stuff before he's picked up like a surfboard and plunged into its umami depths, only to emerge as a piece of chicken. You have to admire the client for signing off on this, and Mother for creating an idea that's so left field that it's in another field. The rest of the magic is provided by director Rupic, with a lot of help from the clever people at Black Kite, whose contribution appears to be immense.
