"The Tiger"

Full house.

Demi Moore continues to ride a wave of goodwill thanks to 'The Substance'. She now stars in a Gucci commercial (a long Gucci commercial, it must be said) directed by Spike Jonze and Halina Reijn, who seem to have carte blanche to promote the La Famiglia range. Why not, therefore, get the likes of Ed Harris, Elliot Page, Keke Palmer, Alia Shawkat, and Edward Norton on board for good measure?

That helps explain why 'The Tiger' is over thirty minutes long (get yourself a drink and strap in). Everybody wants to try something, play against type, or get loosey-goosey on your ass, so this family reunion goes in all sorts of weird and introspective directions, thanks in large part to an overdose of "homeopathic, collagen-based, root-infused vitamin tincture". It's a mouthful in more ways than one.

Yes, it's a protracted plug for overpriced bags and clothes, but there are moments that scratch beneath the surface. Take the moment when Harris's character says: "Isn't it strange you can only see yourself from the inside and everyone else sees you from the outside?" Jonze and Reijn then cut to Page, who knows all there is to know about identity and self-examination in the public eye.
