Stream or scream.
Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), and Will (Noah Schnapp) need all the help they can get in the fight against Vecna. Dustin’s got an idea, though: why don't they watch as many action movies released before 1987 as possible? To beat the worst, learn from the best... like John Matrix in 'Commando' or Ellen Ripley in 'Aliens'. To the strains of 'Lonely is the Night' by Billy Squire, the gang attempts to build the world’s first stream machine, years before the likes of Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, and Apple TV ever entered the public consciousness. It's a proper whizz-bang effort brought to life by director Nick Bal and production designer Sean Brennan, a 'Stranger Things' alumnus who knows all about weird science. It's a health and safety nightmare, but it works, damn it… for a few seconds, at least (life's never been straight-forward for these kids). As the machines shorts out and the Upside Down creeps in—we like how a tentacle is drawn to Will first for continuity points—Deutsche Telekom offers modern-day viewers a sleeker alternative in the form of MagentaTV. The brand hope the cast of 'Stranger Things' live to see it.
