60s

The one and only.
Rogue's Simon Ratigan directs a superb spot for Co-op Funeralcare about Iris, a woman who played the numbers round of life and won. She lived to the grand old age of eighty-five, but that’s not the only number that matters to Ratigan and agency VCCP, whose 'Owned By You, Right By You' campaign continues to do the brand proud. In sixty tactful and evocative seconds, she went on forty-three road trips, had zero green fingers, one spiritual home in the form of Neptune Fish and Chips, and two "I do"s to her name. We love how three passions become two and then one, just as everyone's priorities and interests change over time. It's that one hardest goodbye, however, that hits like a ton of bricks. This is where the advertised funeral director comes in, keen to help make Iris's send-off count, so to speak. Her story does not end with that plaintive farewell—it ends with colourful, characterful, and celebratory gestures that a life well-lived deserves. DAVID hated maths at school, but ads like this make numbers way more meaningful.
