Laughter is contagious.

Comic Relief turns forty this year (the BBC hopes to avoid a nasty mid-life crisis on live television), so expect a ton of Red Nose Day throwbacks between now and Friday 21st March. This ad features one from 1993, when Mr Bean appeared as a contestant on 'Blind Date'. Suffice it to say, Rowan Atkinson's alter ego was not marriage material.

He does make the diverse cast of director Angelo Cerisara's office-set commercial laugh, and what a range of laughs it is. Some are deep, some are loud, some are slight, some are rhythmic, and some sound like animal calls—what matters is that everyone laughs in some shape or form, and that makes both the BBC and the advertised smile four decades on.
