Chains of Love
Emerald Fennell's 'Wuthering Heights' (also known as 'The Erotic Adventures of Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff') comes… out on February 13, 2026, the same day as Charli XCX's soundtrack album. She's already released 'House'—now it's time for 'Chains of Love' and its tumultuous music video directed by C Prinz. More 'True Romance' than 'Brat', the song sets out its stall with pure Gothic angst ("I'd rather lay down in thorns/I'd rather drown in a stream/I'd rather light myself on fire/I'd rather wear all these scars"). Before you can say ouch, Charli launches into a chorus that echoes, ensnares, and, erm, Emily Brontës ("The chains of love are cruel/I shouldn't feel like a prisoner"). There's nary a flesh wall or Catherine Earnshaw doll in C Prinz's promo, but it does threaten to sweep up viewers not tied to the ground. Set inside a cavernous hall, the film throws all it can at Charli (wind, glass, a hefty dinner plate, et cetera), but the singer-songwriter is resolute—even when a table’s lifted off the ground, she holds on like it's a cliff edge. Watch out for the somersault that we hope teases a kick-ass fight scene in the main film.
