"Taking Care of Things"

Here come the fuzz.
This British Gas commercial is all about things. OK, allcommercials are about things, but this one is a hundred percent about things—specifically, a family of blue fuzzballs that moves into a house and fills it with boxes full of—you guessed it—things. Suffice to say, this is a lot different from Tom Daley's six-pack. Imagine if tribbles from 'Star Trek' could get a mortgage. We like that all the next-door neighbour cares about is that the family's removal van is parked over Kay and Steve's drive. As he harrumphs at the window, the Things make themselves at home. Directors Si&Ad and the team at Electric Theatre Collective ensure they're a relatable bunch with profiles on the telly and, in Dad's case, a blind spot when it comes to kettles. That may not be plugged in, but the house sure is. Gas, electricity, boiler… the brand's taken care of it all, just what customers need when they move in. It means the family can spend more time on boxes labelled, erm, 'Things Things'—it was either that or 'Miscellaneous Things'.
