Race across the world.
DAVID's always wanted to visit Chile, so it’s rather cruel of Bentley to set a chunk of this two-minute commercial in the South American country. Directed by Nick Schrunk and lensed by Tim Sessler, the ad whisks viewers to the Atacama Desert, where the advertised Bentayga SUV races a mountain bike across the dunes. Sand gets everywhere, to quote Anakin Skywalker, but it also takes your breath away. The Sea of Dunes is washed down with a trip to the coast, where a surfer, Tristan Aicardi, attempts to steal the car's thunder. He's good, but until Bentley wishes to make a surfboard, the Bentayga wins every time. Again, Schrunk and his crew take full advantage of the scenery—enough to make you check flights to Santiago. The last stop on Bentley's Pan-American tour is Canada, with snow in lieu of sand, sea, and surf. Now pitted against a skier, the SUV holds its own in a winter wonderland. Well-judged shots from the driver's point of view lets viewers place themselves behind the wheel, whether they can afford it or not. If they can, it's up to them to make every trip look as good as Schrunk's film.
