Further proof that Australia is the go-to advertising market if you are a fan of funny commercials. Director Ariel Martin has coaxed a perfect performance from the protagonist (bearing an uncanny resemblance to either Brad or Dan from the UK Foster's campaign) in this splendid piece of work for Balter. His inspirational speech as he addresses a bar full of people with beer in hand is genuinely inspirational, as well as being a perfectly weighted parody. Talk about having your beer and drinking it too.

Some of the comedy derives from the reactions of those listening to him. While there is a healthy dose of scepticism (especially from his friend at the end) some are so taken in by his exhibition of enthusiasm that you suspect he could start a cult and they would immediately become his most loyal adherents.

But it is the central performance that is most eye-catching, delivered with unfaltering commitment, it is a clarion call to beer drinkers, reminding them of the simple pleasure of having a pint in your favourite watering hole. Unashamedly old-fashioned in its values, it feels like a piece of work which will have a huge impact on sales... which it thoroughly deserves.
