Lonyo!

Director Tom Emmerson's latest is the best back to school commercial that's not a back to school commercial. The promo for Bakar's 'Lonyo!' has a pupil beg the singer to share his new track. He agrees, but only if the boy promises not to share it with friends. It's... not a smart move on Bakar's part, but it does lead to a sun-kissed school show for the ages.

Set to a carefree garage beat and a sample of Lonyo's 'Summer of Love', it's a fresh-faced, twinkle-toed treat from start to finish. Choreographed by Joe Adams, Jordan J Funk, and Aisha Ahumah, the film uses high-angle shots to capture dance moves that make the grade and then some. Put yourself in a teacher's shoes and look out the window of the staff room—no one below deserves detention or a punishment exercise.

The joy's infectious as Emmerson flits between groups, cliques, duos, and solo dancers alike. No ripped trousers as far as we can see, only kids happy to cut loose before class. We doubt Bakar will be too annoyed the cat's out of the bag (not when his young friend moves like he does).
