What's mine is yours.
These understated ads for the BBC aim for authenticity and hit the target. Directed by Libby Burke Wilde, each 10" spot revolves around what people use the public service broadcaster for, whether it’s to explore a common interest, learn about the natural world, feel at home away from home, or help young people understand the past. Burke Wilde, Rose Waite, et al., clearly worked hard to assemble the right cast and that effort has paid off in spades. Take the two girls who watch an episode of 'Asia' together on a train: we hear snippets of David Attenborough’s narration ("The wolves close in, but the horses fight back"), yet it's the kids' faces that tell viewers all they need to know. We'd love to see them watch the legendary 'Iguana vs Snakes' video next. Or what about the grandfather who watches a war documentary with his grandchildren on the sofa? Kids can be a tough crowd, but Burke Wilde and DP Rachel Clark capture a rapt audience bathed in the glow of the telly. For the BBC at least, time shared is time well spent.
