"Pyramids"

Much ado about masonry.
Are the pyramids all that? Samuel L Jackson thinks so. The actor, dressed head to toe in Adidas, has fallen head over heels for the ancient wonders. To an extent. He still calls them "big old piles of rock in the middle of the desert", then goes full TripAdvisor for good measure: "They ain't shiny, they don't light up, no WiFi, no holograms, and not even a food court." Shoddy work all round, eh? Far from it, says Jackson. He respects how the pyramids were built to last, be unforgettable, and make us wonder how on Earth they were made. As the lecture draws to a close, Jackson puts his feet up on the desk and says: "There wasn't anything else like them then and there ain't nothing else like them now... except these motherfuckers." Not only is it the most Samuel L Jackson way to sum up a pair of sneakers, it exudes confidence on behalf of the brand. The Superstars are only on screen for ten seconds, but they manage to steal the pyramids' thunder, just as Egypt's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities thought it had Nick Fury's seal of approval.
