They say you should never meet your heroes, and this Vrbo spot reminds us never to stay with our heroes. When a family arrives at the home of retired college football coach Nick Saban, it's 14:55. "Check-in time's at 15:00," he tells them, which sets the tone for the entire stay.

It's hard to argue with a man who won seven national titles—the most in college football history—but no showers longer than five minutes? No streaming services? No children inside the house? He's the host with the most rules, at any rate, and the least desire to share the hot tub ("You guys have got about ten minutes 'cause this is Daddy Time").

Before that idea causes too much psychological damage, the ad cuts to a Vrbo holiday rental where freedom is part and parcel of the whole stay. Perhaps Chez Saban should target childless sports fans with masochistic tendencies on annual leave instead.
