Be honest

One of the most talked about moments in the recent Netflix documentary about David and Victoria Beckham came when the latter tried to suggest her roots were working class, but is interrupted by her husband reminding her that she was driven to school in a Rolls-Royce. His imploration of "be honest" is destined to go down in history as a great television moment.

In this teaser for Uber's Super Bowl campaign, the duo reprise the moment in a fashion which demonstrates an unexpected level of self-awareness. It is very very funny, and director Jake Szymanski deserves an awful lot of credit for coaxing perfect comedy performances from both of them. (Getting Jennifer Aniston's name wrong could have been clunky, but it's not because the line has been perfectly executed.)

This is such an excellent teaser that Uber's commercial is sure to be one of the most keenly anticipated during the Vegas showdown between Taylor Swift the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. But, in truth, this is so good that the ad it trails may struggle to live up to it.
