Stop! Jackhammer time!
Vanessa Carlton provides the soundtrack to this Irish Three commercial from agency Boys+Girls and director Nick Roney. Protagonist Kian may be the happiest fibre installation engineer on the planet with his pneumatic drill and lack of supervision. Carlton would walk a thousand miles, but Kian would drill it. Tarmac, soil, concrete, grass, water pipes… you name it, Kian will bore a hole in it. If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life, and Kian is the living embodiment of that. That's too bad for everyone else in Ireland, as he leaves a trail of destruction that would make the gopher from 'Caddyshack' blush. When he, ahem, rides his massive tool like a pogo stick, it's hard to know whether to clap or put your head in your hands. Three hate to spoil Kian's fun, but they reckon wireless broadband is the way to go. Will this strike fear into the full fibre brigade, or just make them drill harder? Either way, the brand have made an impact.
