Tasmania
"Winter"

30s

Chill, babe.
DAVID has watched this half a dozen times, enjoying it more with each viewing, and still can't figure out how it's only 30" long. In the best possible way, it feels way longer than that. It's been beautifully shot by director Kyra Bartley, and the combination of striking monochromatic visuals, and beautifully landed humour brings to mind Vaughan and Anthea's classic Levi's commercial from the 1990s. The film sounds an astute siren to wild swimming enthusiasts, for whom masochism seems to play a significant role in the appeal. The reverse psychology of the protagonist's trepidation will be shine like the proverbial flame for these crazy moths, and it's easy to see them heading across the Bass Strait in their thousands to test their mettle in the chilling waters of Tasmania.
