This Subway commercial features the business trip to end all business trips. The sandwich chain send one chef on a quest for new flavours, new recipes, and new ingredients, armed only with a passport, a notebook, and his taste buds. The question is: does he have the stamina? Director Mark Zibert and editor Steve Puhach put him through his paces, that's for sure. Driven by the yé-yé beat of Rita Pavone's 'Il Geghegè', the ad crosses more borders than a 'Race Across the World' contestant. Any mode of transport will do, so long as it takes chef John to the best cuisine around... and away from a hacked-off ostrich. So long as he avoids any international incidents (if not, Subway will disavow all knowledge of his actions), John will come back with inspiration from Italy, India, Argentina, Cuba, and more. The brand hope this helps develop Canada's palate even further.
