Did you mitts us?
We're only a few days into November, but it's already been a busy month for Michael Gracey. Not only has the Australian directed a Christmas spot for Argos, but he's also delivered one for Morrisons. The man deserves to put his feet up, we reckon. He and Yellow Supermarket have put on a show here, with even more oven gloves than last year's instalment (thank God puppeteers Olly Taylor, Helena Smee, Marcus Clarke, and Laurence Moran have wrists of steel). This time, scores of pot holders and mitts sing 'You Give a Little Love' from the 'Bugsy Malone' soundtrack. Ads like this need to balance razzle-dazzle with produce and Gracey's done a swell job overall. If any of the gloves had teeth, they would be sunk into salmon, turkey, roast beef, mince pies, and more. If this 90" commercial drives up sales of oven gloves to boot, Yellow Supermarket will be pleased as Christmas punch.
