This is not the end of Lewis Hamilton—just the end of Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes. After twelve years at (deep breath) Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team, the seven-time world champion is off to Ferrari… but not before this commercial from agency AMV BBDO and director Melina Matsoukas says what needs to be said.

'Every Dream Needs a Team' revolves not just around Hamilton's Mercedes career, but also the people he inspired along the way. Take the BMX rider who says, "Imagine a superhero who looks just like you", or the girl who plays with toy cars in the front room. Wherever they go in life, they know the spark that lit the fire.

As well as a reminder of the driver's support for the Black Lives Matter movement, the ad is a sure-fire way to make viewers feel old. A twelve-year-old Hamilton, interviewed in 1997 by 'Black Britain', says: "Imagine being in an F1 car—must be be pretty powerful that". Over a quarter of a century later, he's more powerful than anyone could have imagined.
