Why does it always rain on me?
Sorry, everyone—KFC predict a wet summer this year. The Met Office might as well shut up shop until autumn, as DAVID likes to get the forecast from fast food restaurants. Sometimes he gets a commercial out of it, like this 60" effort from agency Mother and director Sam Pilling. Inspired by 'Singin' in the Rain' and DAVID's last round of golf, a young woman leaves her local branch just as the heavens open. She could stand around and hope the storm passes before her food gets cold, or she could embrace the wet like Gene Kelly did seventy-plus years ago. Decisions, decisions... She picks the latter, of course, accompanied by Michael McDonald's 1982 hit, 'I Keep Forgettin' (Every Time You're Near)'. Her smile brightens up this awful night, and so do her carefree dance moves. When she reaches the bus shelter (complete with beach holiday poster), she's earned her Ultimate BBQ Burger. Pilling has a surprise for her and her friend, as well as viewers who wondered why an ice cream truck was out at this time of night. The driver should have known how dangerous 'barbecue weather' was.
