Thrown Around
If you ever want to hear James Blake say, "I want to shag the algorithm," now's your chance. Blake went independent this year, so he asks sh&LUB (DAVID swears he got a press release from them once) to help kick-start his new era. They tell him to hit the streets and make #content—perhaps the least James Blake thing possible. It all goes tits up when a bloke nicks Blake's phone, with Blake forced to ask people for help. That goes even worse somehow, as the 2013 Mercury Prize winner gets hit with a pint glass then punched in the face by someone who prefers his early work to 'Thrown Around'. London's a tough crowd, eh? Every so often, Blake retreats to a field in the middle of nowhere—a place far from the concerns of modern life ("Getting to my wealth/Is getting to my health"). Even when he gets his phone back through sheer luck, Blake is convinced the experiment has failed. Little does he know that he shagged the algorithm good and proper.
