This Hornbach commercial is the 'Idle Hands' remake DAVID never knew he needed. Devon Sawa's stoner teenager is replaced by a portly man glued to his phone… until his left appendage takes matters in its own, erm, hand.

By the power vested in it by the German DIY store, the hand takes its owner for a ride. It throws him through a table, drags him upstairs, and hurls him against a cabinet like a ragdoll. When the right hand joins in, you fear the worst for this smartphone addict.

It helps that director Steve Rogers and his crew make it feel like an ordeal, with furniture destroyed and the floor scuffed good and proper. Kudos also goes to the lead actor who sells the possession with aplomb. We reckon he was too much of a renegade to be a hand model.

Do the hands want to hurt him? Not at all. They just want be used—heck, when the man picks up a hammer and gets to the work on the attic floor, he enjoys it. This is what happens when you stop phoning in life.
