Backing the right horse

Directing duo The Reids have created an inspirational branded content film for the realists. The excellent piece for multi-hyphenate Cam Hicks’ eponymous label, explores the notion of ‘focus on your own path’ by styling music producer Cleto Maréz in custom horse blinders, and following him around London’s grind.

The blinders are a perfect visual device for the hero’s ability to tune out life’s myriad distractions, and keep moving forward on his personal mountain. Yet the film steers clear of overly romantic and lofty ideals, and oozes a gritty nonchalance towards the whole relentless ambition to achieve your goals-thing.

Shot by the directors on an iPhone Pro 15 Max, this is a collaboration between minds that seem as sure of their path through the creative field, as the film’s protagonist. And we’re eager to see what they set their sights on next.
