Sucks to be us.

What happens if you stick 'Game of Thrones', 'The Lord of the Rings', and 'Impact Winter' in a blender? You get this Audible commercial from agency Fold7 and director Antoine Bardou-Jacquet, who knows a thing or two about fantasy and science fiction (check out 'The Secret of Wakany' for Canal+ to see what we mean).

"On a distant world," the narrator intones, "darkness marched ever closer." Darkness, in this case, is a horde of robot spiders helmed by a cross between White Walkers and Sauron. They also have cyborgs armed with pulse rifles in case anyone looks at them funny.

Yet, before they can duke it out with the noble residents of a walled city, sceptres, spiders, and soldiers alike are sucked up by a portal in the sky. Have they angered the gods? Has a top secret weapon malfunctioned? Not unless you count a vacuum cleaner as a WMD.

The forces of good and evil, as it turns out, belong in an audiobook—the listeners just happens to be in the middle of household chores. Sucks to be them, you might say, but great for viewers and bibliophiles alike.
