Breaking good

The process of filmmaking is a complex dance between all departments involved, and this ad about breaking at the Olympics is a gold-medal worthy performance in its own right. The film for Accenture is, on paper, a case study on their work for NBC Universal’s Peacock streaming service, but on screen, it’s a stunning display of creative prowess.

Directed by London-based director and artist Bafic, and produced by Love Song Films via Droga5, the ad is set to a version of James Blake’s ‘Thrown Around’. An apt soundtrack for the choreography and commitment of the dancers, who display such confidence and freedom of expression, that it physically alters their surroundings. Though it was possibly breaking’s combined debut and final bow at this year’s Olympics, this film is one art form honouring another.
