You have to admire a brand is committed to comedy as WealthSimple. How many other brands would be willing to get behind a script like this? Obviously, mainly Martin Short is sending up himself, but many clients would worry about the collateral damage along the way, as – to make the comedy work – Short has to be very dismissive of WealthSimple.

Martin Short has been playing a self aggrandising twit in many different forms throughout his career, so the shtick isn't new, but the absurdity of it here is quite brilliant. Stand by for the shortest helicopter ride you ever did see.

The only thing that would have improved this ad would have been a full commitment to Short's misspoken line... we'd love to have seen "your monkey should work harder than this" in the super at the end.
