Destroying Doldrums

Nick Knowles encourages viewers to "punch mornings in the face" in an amusing new campaign from Shreddies. Retro vibes are in full effect, as the TV presenter is projected onto a boxing glove-cum-rocket ship and hurled bodily at any obstacles which might so much as think of impeding him.

A forthright performance from the long-time spokesman enhances the film's low-fi humour, as Knowles screams "I'm a metaphor" for anyone who hadn't quite grokked the imagery. He seems to be having a great time throughout the 20" spot, despite delivering cries of pain whenever his noggin is used to punch aside a problem.

Chores, meetings, or even an image of himself riding backwards on a horse - nothing stands in the way of a cereal-fuelled Knowles. It's a light-hearted way to encourage hungry viewers to start their days with a bang, skilfully handed by director Dan Castilla.
