Ciclos

This highly accomplished short film by director Ashleigh Jadee is a study of repeating patterns as a young woman's patience is tested by her boyfriend just as it was once by her dad. Severine Howell-Meri is superb as Lauren, often depicting her character's weariness with just a glance and young actor Pebble-Lily Leslie is a match for her as she portrays the same character as a child.

This is an object lesson in storytelling with a limited budget as the car-bound conversations are brilliantly filmed and never leave the viewer feeling as though the film-maker has had to make sacrifices.

'Ciclos' is a fantastic reminder of the talent that's out there, ready and willing to be deployed by the advertising industry.
