"Dunk"

60s

The jump.

In July, Tesco released a charming spot about how children cope with divorce. This 60" ad is Rightmove's take on the idea, and they've completely risen to the challenge. Directed by Adam Berg, the ad sees a boy arriving at this dad's new home... post-split. While the latter watches from inside, the former takes in a newly-installed basketball hoop.

The stakes are high, as it's the perfect opportunity to show the neighbourhood kids who's boss. When 'Song 2' kicks in and slow-mo is turned on, the boy's rise to glory is a sight to behold. What goes up must come down, of course, and he lands with an almighty thud and no slam dunk.

The concern on dad's face is palpable, as you can tell how much he wants this fresh start to work not just for him, but for both of them. Keen-eyed viewers will notice the boy wears a hearing aid, which may also play on the father’s mind.

His fears are allayed when the other kids play ball—a sign that everything will work out after all. All he needs is belief, which the advertised property website aims to give buyers and sellers.
