It's the Morrisons Christmas ad, you lucky people, but Farmer Christmas is nowhere to be seen this year (maybe he’s gone and stuck his tractor in a ditch). As a result, oven gloves, pot holders, and silicone mitts take centre stage in Yellow Supermarket's festive caper.

The unsung heroes of the kitchen find their voice thanks to director Tim McNaughton and puppeteers Olly Taylor and Lynn Robertson Bruce, who must have earned a lifetime supply of kitchen linen off the back of this. They ensure the cast nail their rendition of 'Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now' by Starship.

Whether plain, patterned, or plaid, the gloves charm from start to finish—we love how one guards a tower of profiteroles and slaps a child's hand. Well-observed moments like this are nestled among shots of the brand's festive fare, which requires plenty of, erm, tender gloving care on the big day.

This is the kind of idea that lives or dies in the execution, and by awarding the work to Tim McNaughton of The Bobbsey Twins From Homicide, Leo Burnett ensured their gloves were in the best possible hands.
