A pair of best friends greet each other with an elaborate handshake in this youthful commercial for McDonald's. The duo's efforts are enhanced by animated flair, as director Sam Brown captures their tightly choreographed efforts in intimate detail.

This is no casual high five, or even an exploding fist bump - this is a karate chopping, BFF ring meeting, dance fighting, full-body affair. It's a fun way to emphasise the tightness of the characters' friendship, with locket necklaces spilling from shirts to greet each other in a cheeky, well-executed touch.

Anthony Moore's canny sound design adds a further layer to the pair's movement, making sure the viewer knows they're compatible on every level. Which is why the final revelation - that they're made for each other for everything except nugget sharing, as one keeps the sacred lumps of fried chicken from the other - has such an impact. It's playful, really well judged work which will resonate with Gen Z viewers.
