Aerial Powers got game in more ways than one. Not only is she a Women's National Basketball Association champion, she’s a co-owner of Team Liquid, the professional esports organisation. Whether online or offline, the Gucci ambassador plays to win.

She learned to stand up for herself on some of Detroit's meanest basketball courts, encouraged by her ex-Marine Corps dad, Juan ("If there's a wall right there, run through it"). At home, Powers watched her mum, Cecelia, play video games, a legacy she honours on platforms like Twitch.

The Minnesota Lynx forward now wants to give other people a platform to succeed in their chosen fields. As an emotional Juan explains, "It's great to be powerful, but to truly be powerful is when your share that power. She shares that power."
